Symphony Group has applied to redevelop the former Turners and Growers city markets site at the Viaduct Basin.
To be known as The Parc, it will have 15 five-level apartment blocks with 113 units, four shops and 210 carparks. Auckland City Council's planning fixtures subcommittee will consider the application today.
The site, bounded by Customs St, Pakenham St and Market Place, will have an 80m x 50m landscaped park.
Symphony director Chris Minty said apartments would cost between $450,000 and more than $2 million.
Westfield head
The new head of Westfield New Zealand is John Widdup, aged 47, who starts in early February.
He will replace Grant Hirst, who returns to Westfield in Sydney to run the international leasing division.
Houses of note
Auckland architect Ron Sang, of Sang Architects, said he had waited 25 years to receive national recognition for two houses he designed: the concrete Sargent house in Arney Rd, Remuera, and the wooden Brian Brake house in Titirangi.
Mr Sang received an enduring architecture award in the Institute of Architects-Resene local architecture awards for the two houses.
Commercial builder Phil Sargent had his Arney Rd house built in 1971, and the late international photographer Brian Brake had his wooden house suspended above the kauri trees in 1976.
Row settled
A confidential out-of-court settlement has been reached between Symphony Group and other joint venture partners with residential property buyer P.C. Cardon over a property in Carlton Gore Rd.
Botany village Building has started on Pueblo de Sacramento in Armoy Drive, Botany Downs.
The residential development is in the hands of Taradale Properties.
