When Iron Maiden play two shows in New Zealand next week, founding member Steve Harris will be bringing his daughter to the slaughter. In a serious case of nepotism - not seen since Sting got his son Joe Sumner's band Fiction Plane to support The Police when they
played Western Springs last year - Lauren Harris and her band will support her daddy's heavy metal behemoth at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium on February 20 and Christchurch's Westpac Arena on February 22.
The 21-year-old singer is the oldest daughter of bass player Steve and grew up listening to her father's music and going on tour with Maiden.
She played to more than two million people last year when she supported the band on the first leg of their Somewhere Back In Time world tour, so there's no chance of her running to the hills from stage fright.
Local support acts will be Chuganaut at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium, February 20, and Tainted in Christchurch at Westpac Arena on February 22.
