Van der Drift at Monza
Professional racer New Zealander Chris van der Drift is in action again this weekend at Monza. He and the team will be hoping to make amends after their Spa-Francorchamps outing where a mechanical malfunction saw the Kiwi being part of a spectacular crash.
Dithering over deal
Finally, the FIA has agreed to a deal with the Formula One Group that was tabled back in July surrounding the sport's new Concorde Agreement, which will now come into force. The new agreement is set to run until 2020. However, nothing is as it seems and it appears "parties are continuing to move towards an agreement".
Under the hood
It now appears joining the V8 Supercars circus increases car sales. Volvo, who are due to enter the 2014 series with an S60 car, report an increase in orders for the model. Garry Rogers Motorsport has been tasked by the Swedish manufacturer to get the car ready for the V8SC fray, and the first of the two cars is ready to have its inner panels fitted. The second car's chassis is already on the jig getting welded together and the team, who celebrate 50 years in the sport, can't wait to get their teeth around a new car.
