A rugby fan has invented an icecream creation that he says takes care of Bledisloe Cup fever and is his tribute to the All Blacks and New Zealand.
Italian expatriate Gianpaolo Grazioli is serving his All Blacks vanilla icecream this weekend at his Queen St store, Giapo.
The icecream comes with a dark chocolate boot and a white chocolate rugby ball filled with a lemon ganache.
The boot is the base of Mr Grazioli's custom-made black cone - his edible take on the famous All Blacks adidas sock. All of this wouldn't be complete without the All Blacks organic vanilla icecream. Mr Grazioli also created an AstroTurf base out of freeze-dried mint powder and dark chocolate.
The cost? $20.
"It is a tribute to the team and to New Zealand. Two things that mean a lot to me," said Mr Grazioli, who is currently overseas.
"Being born in Italy, I was exposed to soccer and basketball more than rugby. But the Aussies know they are going to lose. It's all a matter of how bad it's going to be for them."
The icecream is a creamy, not-too-sweet vanilla, coloured black using powdered coal. The waffle cone is coated chocolate inside and out.
And, if you feel the price is a bit steep for an icecream, share it with a friend - the serving is generous.
