A grief-stricken man in the UK 'proposed' by placing a ring on the hand of his dead girlfriend, before sharing images of their 'engagement' online.
Abigail Hall, 18, died suddenly during her first week at university.
The young woman's boyfriend, Josh Thompson, was working overseas as a tennis coach when he heard the news of her death, flying home to Britain immediately.
The Daily Mail reported that Thompson had planned to 'pop the question' to Hall at some stage next year and was so devastated by her death that he decided to ask permission of the teen's family to propose before her funeral.
Thompson then announced the couple's engagement in a heart-warming post on Facebook, which has since been deleted, alongside an image of the diamond ring adorning his girlfriend's lifeless hand.
"Abigail Hall and I are now engaged," he posted.
"She is my life. Words cannot express the love that I have for her, she was the reason I would wake up in the morning."
He added: "Thank you to everyone for the support you have given Abbie's family and myself. Life will never be the same again, we need to continue to support each other."
"There's no one else I would want to share my life with. I love you Panda. I will always love you baby."
Hall's body was discovered by friends in her flat in Sheffield. The Star reported that an investigation was under way though police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
