Forget oranges, scientists are touting kiwifruit as the best source of vitamin C.
New research shows eating one kiwifruit a day is enough to a achieve a healthy vitamin C level, while two ensure an optimal level.
It also suggests food sources high in the vitamin should be the cornerstone of a healthy diet.
Associate Professor Margreet Vissers of Otago University says most other fruit and vegetables contain much less.
She says one kiwifruit delivers the full recommended daily allowance and will contribute more vitamin C than an orange.
