Mr Zaloum is sure that the continued efforts of the members of the club along with the generosity of the people of Napier will ensure that the club will be able to facilitate the supply of fresh citrus fruit for a long time to come.
Don Alexander, who is a veteran member of the member of the club and involved in the drive for a number of years has also continued to assist with this project by sharing his vast knowledge.
The members of the Ahuriri Rotary Club thanked the members of the Napier Community who willingly donated their surplus citrus in order to help another Community.
Mr Irwin said the Ahuriri Rotary once again applauded Napier's generosity and support of this project which in turn enabled everyone to help make a difference in the lives of others.
The club were also extremely grateful for the support given by TIL Freight for their assistance in transporting the fruit and also to Alexander Construction for supplying storage space.
"I wish to commend both organizations for their community spirit."
Any fruit that is surplus to the club's requirements will be offered to the Napier and Salvation Army food banks for distribution to the less fortunate families in this community.
The fruit will be collected from today until September 2. It will be sent to the Rotary Club of Dunedin who will then co-ordinate the redistribution through community groups within their respective regions.
