A man was arrested early last night after allegedly cutting himself free of a home detention monitoring bracelet and fleeing an address in Clive, between Napier and Hastings.
Senior Sergeant Dan Foley, of police Eastern District command centre, Napier, said police were called at 4.47pm to an alleged domestic incident.
Police swarmed the area of Ferry Rd and Delta Mews, also putting patrols in place in and out of Clive. There were little or no restrictions on rush-hour traffic part from the immediate area of the hunt for the man.
Mr Foley said a 31-year-old man was found hiding on another property in the area, unarmed and arrested without struggle.
