The kids are on holiday and so are we! We're lucky enough to have this week off work and are enjoying spending time with our families. Mostly.
Sometimes the question does pop into one's head, "For the sake of my sanity, why did I decide to take time off while my children are not occupied at school for six hours of the day?" But someone's got to look after them and if not their teachers, then I suppose it's up to the parents! It is nice spending quality time together and we took much pleasure in telling the alarm it would not be needed for a whole seven days, but there is one thing we're a little worried about: our beer.
Whilst we have enjoyed a tipple or two in the studio from time to time (all in the name of work, of course), I never thought I'd see the day we made an alcoholic beverage in there - but when Harvey Norman asked us if we'd like to have a crack at brewing some beer in the Williams Warne Personal Brewery, how could we say no?
This thing is flash and even has a built-in tap to pour the beer from once it's ready. Martin took over the project and really did very little, as the beer pretty much brews itself. A twist of the release valve here and there and some temperature checking was all that was required and after eight days, Martin's beer was ready.
We needed a name for this liquid gold so put it out to our listeners. Many thought it should be named after Martin's band; something like "Badger Brew". Others wanted to focus on the fact Martin is follicly challenged and suggested "Baldy's Brew". Eventually we decided on Kym's idea of "Pamela" because it's simple, blonde and well-endowed. It tastes really good!
