Mayoral candidate Andrew King.

Mayoral candidate Andrew King.

What's playing on your car stereo at the moment?
I don't listen to the car radio if I can help it. It's the time I use to think and process. There's little quiet times we get in our lives and in the car between meetings or appointments is one of those
times to think creatively or to realign my thoughts.

What's the best piece of advice you've been given and by whom?
Daniel Carter: "I was never the best, but I never gave up."

Who would you most like to meet and why?
My mother's mother, Irma Stephenson who had passed before I can remember. It's the one grandparent I never got to know.

What's one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That I was once a Mr Minit.

Favourite Hamilton eatery?
Sugar Bowl for breakfast, Subway for lunch, Thai Classic Cuisine for dinner.

Favourite place in Hamilton to visit?
Taitua Arboretum.

Most embarrassing moment?
Not repeatable.

What's your favourite summer holiday destination and why?
Whakatiwai - family holidays.

Have you ever done drugs?
No and I didn't inhale either LOL.

What hair products do you use?
Budget shampoo $2 per 1L bottle.

What song best describes your work ethic?
Get a haircut - George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

A penguin walks through that door right now wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he here?
Tequila - to tell me not to build a wall.

If you had Hamilton News over for dinner what would you cook for us? (And when can we come!?)
Roast dinner - it is so easy and it's winter so a BBQ doesn't suit the season.

What do you plan to do with all your corflute signs after the election? (Andrew - will you be building a house with yours as a small shrine to yourself?)
Trash them.

What do you think of garden gnomes?
Hate them.

You're a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why?
Yellow. I prefer orange, but it has religious connotations.

If we were talking to your best friend or spouse, what is one thing they would say you need to work on?
Listening skills.

If you were allowed one super power, what would it be and why?
Teleport - I hate planes.

Do you prefer to be right or to be liked?
Right.

If you only had six months to live, what would you do with your time?
I would spend even more time with my family.

What's the last gift you gave someone?
Bottle of 18-year-old Highland Park whiskey for Toby Collin's 40th birthday. My ancestry on one side is from the Orkney Islands and this whiskey, which I believe is the best in the world, is made there.
