Local band Six60 have worked quickly to turn their Canterbury concert this Saturday into a fundraiser.
The band was already set to play at Hagley Park, but have collaborated with the Christchurch City Council to expand it as a Kaikoura fundraiser.
Spokesperson Callam Mitchell says Christchurch has a history of using music to unite survivors of natural disasters.
"No-one knows better than Cantabrians what the people stranded in Kaikoura are going through. This is our way of showing we're united in adversity."
Up to 10,000 extra seats have been added for the show, which will also include performances from The Black Seeds, Kings, L.A.B, and Downtown Brown with Laughton Kora.
All profits will be donated to the Kaikoura relief effort, and all acts will donate part of their fee.
All tickets brought now come with a bonus ticket to help spread the word. People who have already brought tickets with receive a free promo code so they can bring someone affected by the latest earthquake.
The all-ages show kicks off this Saturday from 2:30pm until 10. Tickets can be brought from www.dashtickets.co.nz
