Jane Campion's TV show has had a Hollywood boost with the announcement that Nicole Kidman will join the second season of Top of the Lake.
Kidman has returned home to Australia for the show, which is shooting now in Sydney, and joins Elisabeth Moss and Gwendoline Christie in a starring role, Deadline reported.
"I am very excited to be coming home to work with darling friend Jane Campion, whose work I respect and admire. I'm also so happy to be joining the incredible Elisabeth Moss," Kidman said in a statement.
Top of the Lake is a dark murder mystery show that is moving to Sydney after the first season was based in Otago.
This season, called Top of the Lake: China Girl, will focus on Moss' detective Robin Griffin investigating a body that washes up on Bondi Beach.
Campion has history with Kidman after directing her in 1996's Portrait of a Lady.
