During an episode of the long-running Aussie soap, actress Kassandra Clementi's character Maddy Osborne is filmed sitting on the edge of a bed with her right arm amputated.
However, the character is later spotted with her left arm bandaged up and amputated.
Media Watch posted a side by side comparison photo of the character on Facebook on Wednesday, creating a stir of speculation on the web.
"Soapies are not normally on the Media Watch radar, but we couldn't go past this continuity bungle on Home and Away last night," Media Watch wrote on Facebook.
Seasoned fan John Heathcote claimed the confusion was simply due to a reflection from a mirror, but Frances Kajio rebutted: "but then why is the lamp still on the same side?"
Media Watch joined in to say: "Yes, you would think the bandaged arm would be away from the lamp in a reflection."
As the episode went on the camera confirmed Maddy was indeed missing her left arm.
The resolution prompted Media Watch to update their Facebook post and relieve viewers of the mind boggling puzzle.
"Update: mirror mirror on the wall...on reflection there was no bungle at all. Our soapie watch days are over already."
