It's been a week of high drama at TV3 and no one seems immune to it.
Just five days after the Weekend Herald broke the news that star news anchor Hilary Barry had controversially quit the network, the boss himself, Mark Weldon, was out the door. News staff could not contain their glee, and there were extraordinary scenes when Barry and co-host Mike McRoberts carted beer and Moet into TV3's Flower St HQ.
And now Barry's heir apparent at 6pm, Samantha Hayes, appears to have lost her leading man. Spy understands Hayes, 32, and TV3 cameraman Hayden Aull, 28, have split, and that Aull has moved out of their Herne Bay home.
The couple has been dating since early 2014. They did not respond to interview requests but sources close to the pair would only say the relationship had run its course.
The action-loving pair shared some fun times together. Last August, Aull travelled to Kenya with Hayes to catch her on camera as she ran 21km through Kenya's Maasai Mara National Park during the Great Migration.
And now a third man in Hayes' life is moving on. Two weeks ago she posted a "flatmate wanted" notice on Facebook, seeking a housemate to replace great friend and former TV3 colleague, David Farrier, who is heading overseas at the end of this month.
Hayes is currently travelling herself. The beautiful redhead has started a three-week journalism scholarship in Hawaii, studying economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region and will also visit China and Japan.
A nice distraction from the MediaWorks mayhem at home.
