Last year, Kiwi actor Dean O'Gorman played Kirk Douglas to critical acclaim in the movie Trumbo, working with acting greats Dame Helen Mirren and Bryan Cranston. And from there things have only got better for O'Gorman, the star most famous for his role as the dwarf Fili in The Hobbit.

While filming the upcoming second series of TV3's Westside he took time out to get married.

The very private O'Gorman was tightlipped when Spy asked about the nuptials, but it is understood the 39-year-old married long-time love, the beautiful Sarah Wilson, at his rural property north of Auckland.

Guests included Westside's leading actor David de Lautour and his girlfriend Hannah Marshall who also features in Westside.

The newlyweds were last on Spy's radar in December 2014 when, as an engaged couple, they attended the wedding of former Almighty Johnsons' star Jared Turner and Lizzy Mayers.

In turn, Turner and fellow former Norse God Ben Barrington attended O'Gorman and Wilson's wedding.

Last week, O'Gorman posted a picture of himself hitting the dance floor after his nuptials, his only public insight into the joy of his wedding: "Feeling myself on my wedding day," exclaimed the happy actor.

O'Gorman gave up the fake moustache he wears to play property developer Evan Lace in Westside. The groom was clean shaven for his big day.

O'Gorman is currently filming the remake of Kiwi classic movie Goodbye Pork Pie in Wellington, starring as a member of the famous Blondini gang, alongside actors
James Rolleston and Ashleigh Cummings.

Later this year the actor will hit TV One screens in the anticipated series, Hillary. O'Gorman will play George Lowe, Sir Edmund Hillary's climbing companion. Hillary is played by Andrew Munro.
