Album review: Various Artists, The Lone Ranger

This isn't the soundtrack for The Lone Ranger but it is one of the more interesting movie-inspired albums floating around. According to director Gore Verbinski, these 14 gritty, alt-rock and Americana tunes are some of those the cast and crew listened to while bringing the legendary tale to life. The film has received mixed reviews, but this compilation, which features Sara Watkins, Iggy Pop, Iron Wine and Lucinda Williams, is a winner.
