The Oscar-winning Coen brothers have released the first trailer for their follow up to True Grit.
Inside Llewyn Davis is loosely based on Dave Van Ronk, a central figure in the Greenwich Village folk scene of the 60s which gave rise to luminaries such as Bob Dylan.
Its trailer shows Davis, played by Oscar Isaac, struggling to find recognition for his music and enduring a withering lesson on sex from his former love interest, played by a dark-haired Carey Mulligan.
John Goodman also makes an appearance as a imposing, acid-tongued industry figure.
Joel and Ethan Coen have directed and produced the movie.
The trailer is backed throughout by Bob Dylan's Farewell, a 1960s-era B-side the folk legend released in 2010.
