Ricky Gervais says that he had a "blast" presenting the Golden Globes over the weekend.
Although the reviews have been mixed regarding how well the British actor did, Gervais says it was his favourite experience at the helm.
In a posting on his blog, the acerbic comedian wrote his thoughts on the show but said that it will be his third and final time.
"Phew! Thank f**k that's over! I had a blast actually. It was by far my favourite of the three hosting stints,'' Gervais wrote.
"I've told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again though. It's like a parachute jump. You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realise you didn't die and it was quite an amazing thing to do.''
Gervais added that he thought the celebrity audience was more receptive to him, even though members were frequently at the brunt of his punch lines.
"The crowd were great this year too,'' he surmised. "I think they finally worked out that my gags only seemed rude and nasty but were actually not too scary at all.
"Or they were just drunker. Either way, it was fun but I'm glad to say I'm off to New York to chill out a bit. Ahhhhhh. And relax."
Gervais' jokes were considerably less offensive than last year's but he still poked fun at Kim Kardashian's short-lived marriage, Jodie Foster's Beaver movie and joked that the Bridesmaids film was based on a wild weekend with Dame Helen Mirren.
