Paul ready to tie knot third time

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney will marry his girlfriend Nancy Shevell today, British media have reported.

He is expected to tie the knot at London's Westminster Register Office, where he also married his first wife Linda, who died of cancer in 1998.

Sir Paul, 69, became engaged to the American heiress this year. They began dating after meeting four years ago in the upmarket Hamptons area of Long Island.

His second marriage to former model Heather Mills ended with an acrimonious courtroom battle in 2008.

Shevell sits on the board of New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority, is an executive at her father's company, and was previously married for more than 20 years to lawyer Bruce Blakeman.
