Stars: 3/5

Mastodon - arguably the best metal band in the world - should really learn to do some vocal warmups before they perform live. Because while the music on this album is as heavy-hitting and intense as you'd expect from the Atlanta monsters, the dodgy vocals let down this live performance of last album, Crack the Skye, and a handful of the band's other songs. To be fair, the music they play is technically complicated, and with four vocalists it's a challenge to pull off in concert, but overall Live At the Aragon is a bit of a let down. However, the Crack the Skye movie on DVD is a must for fans.
