Book Lover: Janey Godley

Scottish comedian Janey Godley is in New Zealand touring her hit show Tell It Like It Is.

The book I love most is...
Kate Atkinson's Behind the Scenes at the Museum as it really delves into a family's idiosyncrasies. Her attention to detail is stunning. The protagonist's parents have such an intense, weird relationship I found it hard to put this book down. You'll read this book and want to consume anything written by Atkinson.

The book I'm reading right now is...
David Sedaris' Me Talk Pretty One Day, a collection of autobiographical short stories that document American humourist Sedaris' life. In my opinion Sedaris is the funniest man alive. This book is a gem and his observations are hilarious, especially the bit where he moves to France and tries to learn the language. An accomplished writer, he is the only person to make me laugh out loud whilst reading. Addictive.

The book I'd like to read next is...
Bleak House by Charles Dickens as my daughter Ashley loved it and has been begging me to get into Dickens for years. She adores his books. Now it's my turn.
