A street in an Auckland suburb has been locked down by police as they search a property.
Officers have closed in on Dignan St in Pt Chevalier with a search warrant as they try to capture someone, police said.
Describing it as an "operational matter", police northern police communications shift
commander would not say any more about the large police presence, other than they were "executing a search warrant", and they were "looking for someone".
"We went to the address with a search warrant and executed it," he said.
They have been in the area since around 9.20am. It is not yet known how long the operation will last, or what kind of crime it was related to.
