A bankrupt Mt Roskill man has been accused of concealing hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gold bars and cash from authorities.

Sushil Kumar Sharma is also charged with fraudulently removing property and allegedly transferred four vehicles (including a Jeep Wrangler) to an associate and a trustee company.

The 58-year-old, who appeared in the Auckland District Court this week, is also charged with taking part in the management of a business without the Official Assignee's consent.

Sharma, according to court documents, allegedly concealed between $195,000 and $260,000 in cash from the Official Assignee, the body which manages personal insolvencies.

The Auckland resident, who was declared bankrupt last June, also allegedly concealed $150,000 worth of gold bars from the OA.

Sharma, the documents allege, also concealed $113,848 in a company bank account.

He is next due to reappear in court in September.
