If you have ever dreamed of living the luxe life in Auckland overlooking some of the city's most beautiful parks, sea views and skyline, a penthouse in Epsom may just be the ticket.
It will, however, set you back a cool $2.95 million or up to $4.75m if you're feeling particularly extravagant.
A new urban village in Alexandra Park has already attracted hundreds of buyers. Up to 80 per cent of its 246 new apartments have been sold unconditionally and the first of 750 residents are due to move in from late next year. Included in the village are five penthouses, three of which are still up for grabs.
Lead architect of the development, Richard Naish of RTA Studio, said the high-end designs - and the views available - were in response to market demand.
"We have developed the concept of the garden room, rather than the usual open balcony," he said.
"With our design, people have operable sun and privacy screens, as well as plenty of additional space which they can customise to ensure the ultimate outdoor space."
The penthouses will be located eight levels up - ensuring stunning views of Mt Hobson, Mt St John, Mt Eden, One Tree Hill, Auckland City's skyline, Rangitoto, the Hauraki Gulf and Waitemata Harbour.
All the penthouse properties include a marble gas fireplace, double-glazed floor to ceiling glass and electronic louvre roof coverings with rain-activated sensors.
The $2.95m property measures 288sq m and has three bedrooms.
The homes are being pitched as elegant, sophisticated and spacious properties with the latest fit-outs and accessories. The real estate listing describes the property as a "fabulous" penthouse apartment in Epsom.
"This penthouse apartment - a home in the sky - is conveniently located across the road from Cornwall Park and the One Tree Hill Domain, with the vibrancy of Epsom's newest urban precinct on your doorstep ..."
Alexandra Park head Dominique Dowding said: "Another point of difference for Alexandra Park is the fact that all apartments and penthouses come with freehold titles and of course our central Epsom location also puts you right in the double grammar zone.
"While there's plenty of Auckland apartments in the zone, I can't think of any other penthouses of this size and quality that are."
Construction of the new village is set to be complete by next year.
