Lindsay Lohan's stolen purse returned, minus $10,000

Lindsay Lohan's purse saga has a silver lining.

Shortly after her nude pictorial for Playboy magazine leaked online, the troubled starlet jetted off to Hawaii for a bit of a breather over the weekend.

Laid-back and drama-free? I should coco.

According to TMZ, Lohan, who was in Honolulu County region of Laie, had her $5000 Chanel purse - containing $10,000, her passport and probation paperwork - snatched from her car while she attended a house party.

Who walks around with 10 grand in their purse?

Lohan searched the party in Laie for hours, looking for her precious cargo, according to TMZ, but came up with nothing.

The website reports that Lohan, who was apparently on vacation to "avoid publicity" over her flesh-flashing antics in Playboy mag, spat the dummy over the theft, because she was worried she'd be stranded in Hawaii, sans ID, and unable to make her court date in Los Angeles this week.

Lohan is due in court on Wednesday before Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner for a progress report hearing.

"I will f***ing kill someone if I even have to get questioned [inaudible] jail for a year," Lohan reportedly said in audio obtained by TMZ.

Take a listen to the audio here.

But there's a happy ending for, LiLo. Almost.

Her precious purse has since seen the light of day - but not her wad of cash, which appears to have gone on permanent vacation.

According to TMZ, one of LiLo's pals probed a "suspicious-looking local" over the missing purse, who initially denied any knowledge of its whereabouts, only to front up minutes later with the goods - minus the cash.

The starlet's rep later told ABCNews.com, "The only thing that was missing was the money."

She was reportedly that happy to recover her purse, "she didn't bother asking questions - despite the missing $10,000," adds TMZ.

Hey, when you bag a cool $1 million for dropping your undies for Playboy, $10,000 probably seems like small fry.

LiLo's purse curse sound familiar? It's actually the second time she's freaked out over a missing purse. In Just last year, Lohan skipped out on a mandatory court hearing after she claimed that someone had stolen her passport during a party at the Cannes Film Festival.

Meanwhile, excerpts from LiLo's leaked Playboy spread have also made their way online.

"Looking back, I probably would have listened to and taken more advice from the people whom I admire and would have followed through with it more," she tells the January issue of the magazine.

"My stubbornness at 18 and 19 years old got in the way. During the past five years, I've learned that that time flies faster than you think, and because you only live once, you have to learn from your mistakes, live your dreams and be accountable."

And she doesn't get why she's a headline-hogger.

"I have no idea why there is this fascination with everything I do," she said. "I suppose it is all part of this trend of people wanting to know every single detail of a celebrity's life.

"I mean, once we get to the point where magazines are doing pictorials on my wardrobe to court, that's just so unimportant."

Oh, Lindsay.

In other Lohan goss...

* The wayward one flaunts her bikini bod as she takes to the waves in Hawaii.

* Could LiLo's legal woes be over? RadarOnline reports that she'll be given a glowing probation report when she's up before a judge on Wednesday.

"Judge Sautner gave Lindsay a new probation officer at her last court appearance. Her new probation officer is absolutely no nonsense, and she has seen it all. Lindsay has been a model probationer so far," says a source.
