Blogger Bites Back: Kate Middleton to be Vogue cover girl?

Add a comment

Kate Middleton is a wanted woman - by US Vogue editor Anna Wintour who's been "quietly but persuasively campaigning" to snag the Duchess for the cover of her famed fashion bible, according to gossip.

According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, Wintour has appealed to renowned photographer Mario Testino to help land the Duchess for her magazine.

Testino has a close relationship with the Royals. The photographer worked with the late Princess Diana on a number of occasions. He also shot William and Kate's official engagement photos.

The photographer also frequently shoots for Vogue. He most recently snapped Kate Moss' wedding to rocker Jamie Hince for the mag.

A source said: "Anna has been speaking to Mario about winning over Kate. She is really pressing him to shoot Kate for the cover."

They continued: "Every magazine has been trying to get Kate, and many assume it will eventually be Vogue. But even with the Mario Testino relationship, it is not clear when this will happen. The Palace must approve it, and they are very protective of Kate."

Indeed they are. The Duchess was also reportedly approached by editor Alexandra Shulman to be photographed by Testino for British Vogue before her wedding, but she declined.

Wintour has a mission on her hands, even if she's planning on pulling a few strings with her royal connections. Nonetheless, how many times would you dare so "no" to the notoriously chilly editrix?

Representatives for US Vogue, Testino and Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

Splitsville for Kat Von D and Jesse James ... again

Fickle lovebirds and on-again, off-again couple Kat Von D and Jesse James have broken up, yet again. And this time it's for good. Kaput.

The couple, who had been planning a summer wedding, first broke up in July. But it was game on again in August.

"Sometimes you are only given one chance in life," Sandra Bullock's ex James told "It was up to me to open my eyes and see it. That girl is my chance. I will never stop fighting and striving to hold on to her. Showing her how special she is, and how much I love her."

In a post entitled "ODDS and ENDS" on her Facebook page, Von D has since revealed that the romance has bitten the dust.

"This will be the most "uneventful" blog I have ever written," Von D posted. "I am not in a relationship."

"I apologise for all the "back and forth ... if it's caused any confusion," she added.

She also dished to People: "It was clear to me that we were just on two different paths in life. My friend put it best when he said I could never be more deserving of total, noble love. And as a woman, I think it's important to know your value and never lose sight of that."

Concluding: "I wish Jesse nothing but the best in life and in love."

Rev 'em up, ladies - he's all yours.

Tatts it. Tatts a wrap. Tatts all over. Please yourselves.

LiLo and behold ... she's got a job!

While Hollywood's hit the pause button on her once-blossoming movie career, perpetual party gal and wayward lass Lindsay Lohan has found a way to pay the bills - as a fashion model.

The 25-year-old actress has just been named as the face of German fashion designer Philipp Plein's latest line of clobber.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Saturday in Italy as part of Milan Fashion Week.

Mischa Barton was the face of the brand in 2010.

The designer's press release spouts: "Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model. We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious, but also full of sensuality."

And LiLo's wasted no time putting her fashion feet forward. She's already been snapped working it and pouting up a storm during a photo shoot in Bellagio over the weekend.

Winslet bags a Branson

More juicy details are emerging about Hollywood star Kate Winslet's latest rumoured romance with Richard Branson's married nephew Ned Rocknroll.

The 35-year-old actress made headlines last month after she rescued Branson's mother Eve from a burning building on the tycoon's Caribbean holiday island of Necker.

But it seems there were also other sparks flying on the isle - of the luuurve variety!

The Daily Mail reports that Winslet was staying at Branson's home with her two children - Mia, 10, and Joe, 7 - and her on-and-off model beau, Louis Dowler.

Among the other guests on the island was Branson's nephew Ned - who changed his surname by deed poll from Abel Smith - with whom Winslet really 'hit it off', according to the Mail.

But wait, there's more ...

When she packed her bags to return to New York, Winslet apparently ditched her model squeeze, and took off with Ned in tow!

She's a fast worker. That's got to be a new record, surely? Oh, the scandal!

The pair was also snapped together in central London last week while attending the memorial service for his grandfather Ted.

They're now supposedly shacked up at a "rural hideaway in the Home Counties".

A source tells Us Weekly: "Ned is really happy with Kate. [Ned] feels he can learn so much from her. It's sexy - a boy toy situation!"

Another mole tells The Sun: "When he met Kate he realised she was a real grown up and was attracted to her maturity.

"He also liked the fact she was a little bit older. He finds her incredibly sexy."

Ned recently separated from his wife Eliza - who reportedly wants him back.

Meanwhile, Winslet's rep is keeping it firmly zipped: "As usual, I am making no comment on Kate's private life."

And now for this ...

Betty White: 'I'm still hot'

MC Betty? She may be 89, but Betty White is all for being down with the kids.

The Hot In Cleveland star has teamed up with British singer Luciana on a remix of her chart-topper I'm Still Hot.

Raps White: "I may be a senior but so what? I'm still hot ... I will get you sweaty because I'm the big Betty!"

Oh, Betty!
