We've had plenty of responses to our new columnist Garth George.

Since George launched his column in last Saturday's Bay of Plenty Times Weekend at least 22 people have commented about it on our website.

In today's paper, we have letters to the editor and some of those website comments.

George has sure stirred people up - and that's exactly what a good columnist is supposed to do.

His column is hard-hitting and I certainly expected strong responses - both in favour and against his views. The thing to remember is his column is just his opinion. It doesn't have to be balanced, like a news article .
