The Labour Party is expected to tonight announce its Tauranga candidate for this year's general election from a shortlist of two high-profile women.
Tauranga Women's Refuge manager Angela Warren-Clark and Merivale School principal Jan Tinetti have been confirmed as the two nominees.
The decision is expected to be announced at a selection meeting tonight, held at St George's Anglican Church at Gate Pa.
The selection panel comprises party president Nigel Haworth, general secretary Andrew Kirton and people from the New Zealand Labour Party Council.
Votes by Tauranga party members go towards the final decision.
