Ah Jeez places third in rock quest

Ah Jeez, from Bethlehem College and Tauranga Boys College, placed third in the band section of the 2016 SmokeSmokefreerockquest national final.

Ah Jeez is a four piece funk and blues band from the Bay of Plenty consisting of Brodie McDowell on drums, Mitchell Nemeth on the bass, Ben Mollison on guitar and Elijah Taula as vocals.

Northland metal band Alien Weaponry took out this year's competition held on Saturday night at Auckland's Raye Freedman Centre.

Ah Jeez won $3000 in Rockshop vouchers as their prize.

Ah Jeez vocalist Elijah Tuala also took away the Smokefree Vocals Award.
