Bay motorists are advised by the NZ Transport Agency to expect delays when travelling on state highways in the Bay of Plenty over the next week.
Contractors will carry out 'mill and fill' works as part of an asphalt repair programme and stop/go traffic management and speed restrictions will be in place on sites along SH2 Takitimu Drive and SH36 at times during the works.
SH2 Takitimu Drive work will begin on Sunday July 5 and SH36 will start on Monday July 6.
The work will be carried out at night between the hours of 7pm and 6am to reduce the impact on traffic, however motorists should allow extra time when travelling on the routes.
The work will involve digging up sections of road and laying hot asphalt to repair the pavement.
