The last of New Zealand's Iroquois helicopters will be on show at Tauranga Airport today.
The Royal New Zealand Air Force is bringing the Iroquois helicopters to the airport and they will be on show from about midday.
The Air Force is expected to take some local veterans up for a flight at 1pm.
Today will be the last scheduled visit to Tauranga by the Iroquois. The helicopters are due to be retired after almost 50 years of service.
The Iroquois is expected to become surplus to Defence Force requirements as utility helicopter roles will be undertaken by the replacement NH-90 helicopters.
The current Iroquois fleet is comprised of six airworthy aircraft, seven aircraft that have been placed in long term storage and one partial training airframe - a total of 14 airframes.
