A Papamoa woman who unintentionally amassed a collection of dolphins has been overwhelmed by the number of people wanting to buy them from her.
It has been about a week since Gail Hoepo became the new owner of 98 ornamental dolphins. The collection had belonged to her older sister, who now lives in Australia.
"So it was given to me, that's how I came about them but I'm not a dolphin lover. I collect elephants," Ms Hoepo said.
"They had just been sitting in a box in my carport but I thought I'd better get them out and do something with them."
Ms Hoepo advertised the collection for sale online on Tuesday and has been inundated with interest since.
