The Tauranga City Council's Mobile Library bus that was involved in a fatal crash on Welcome Bay Road near Faith College on October 22 will not be back in service for several weeks.
Communications manager Frank Begley said it only sustained minor damage to the front.
Its male bus driver was back at work. The bus services six schools, five rest homes and 34 public stops per fortnight.
From July to September 2014, it issued 14,511 items on 5762 visits to the mobile library.
19-year-old Karanbir Singh, who had lived in Te Puke for about four months was killed in the accident when the red Holden Astra he was a passenger in, crossed the centre line and collided with the bus.
