While the official police search effort for Jack Dixon has been suspended, surf lifesavers and members of the public are vowing to continue.
Police suspended their search for the missing 5-year-old yesterday, 10 days after he went missing.
Western Bay police Inspector Karl Wright-St Clair said an extensive search on the foreshore and the sea had failed to find any trace of Jack since he was swept into the sea from Shelly Beach.
If any other information came to light regarding Jack's disappearance they would reignite the search, he said.
"Without any further information, the search is suspended. But obviously, a case like this is never closed."
