UPDATED 5.24pm: Mechanics have managed to get a broken down truck mobile and moved it clear of SH36.
The Rotorua to Tauranga Direst Rd is now open again, and traffic is flowing in both directions again.
EARLIER 4.36pm: A broken down truck on State Highway 36 is blocking the north-boundlane and is a hazard to traffic, police say.
The logging truck has stopped on a blind corner about 1.5km south of Pyes Pa School between Oropi Gorge Rd and Williams Rd, Senior Sergeant Shannon Clifford said.
Police are on the scene and traffic has been reduced to one lane.
