The Bay of Plenty Polytechnic aims to set a world record next week for dipping toast into boiled eggs.
Student experience co-ordinator Kirsten Crossan said she was hoping about 200 students would gather at the Windermere Campus on Tuesday to try and break the record for the most people simultaneously dipping toast into their boiled eggs in one place.
The current record was 178 and Mrs Crossan said she thought the polytech could beat this.
"There's lots of hype about it already."
The hospitality students would be cooking the eggs, donated by Masterton company Henergy, on the day.
