Building a robot that can move, lift and throw has earned two Tauranga teens placings in a world championship.
Otumoetai College students Kate Low, 15, Logan Davy, 15, Sarah Avery, 14, and Dean Strydom, 15, travelled to California last week to compete in the 2014 VEX Robotics World Championship High School Division.
Kate and Logan finished second overall in the competition, and Sarah and Dean were second in their division.
The two groups of students took up robotics last year and have devoted their spare time building and fine-tuning their robots.
