The toddler who nearly drowned at Mount Hot Pools last week has been discharged from Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital.

The 2-year-old boy had been under water for about a minute before he was rescued on Wednesday.

The boy was taken to Tauranga Hospital in a serious condition, where he was transferred to Starship.

A Starship spokesman said the boy was discharged on Friday.
