Bay drivers are urged to steer clear of State Highway 2 at Te Puke if they can, as a manual stop/go traffic management system will be in place from Sunday night.
Resurfacing works will take place on SH2 between Atuaroa Ave and Oroua St from 7pm and each night through until Thursday.
The works should be finished by 6.30am each day.
Motorists are advised to keep to the posted 30 km/h temporary speed limit.
The work was being done at night to minimise disruption to travellers.

A New Zealand Transport Agency spokesman said it would like to apologise to motorists for any inconvenience and thank them for their patience while this important work is being undertaken.
