Well-known landscaper Trish Waugh has lent her expertise to the new indoor arena complex at Tauranga Riding for the Disabled (RDA).

Planting of around 700 plants and trees was due to begin on Saturday.

The plants were grown and supplied by Avalon, a development centre where people with disabilities can
reach their potential through daily activities, vocational training and supported employment. Avalon staff and trainees would help with planting, alongside Tauranga RDA staff and a group of keen gardeners involved in the Tauranga Garden Art Fest. Bunnings Warehouse staff would wheelbarrow mulch into each planting border.

Tauranga RDA is situated in Welcome Bay, on the estuary border.

The landscaping would take on a native theme and included rocks donated by J Swap Contractors. Bunnings provided the transportation required to get the rocks into the RDA.
