"I've been here since January living in Papamoa, I'm part of the community now.
"It's easy for me to do. I just turn up with a guitar. It's no hassle.
"It helps me out too, because I get to play to all my mates and meet the locals."
Taane also organised the other entertainment at the Little Big Night Market - Western Bay musician Regan Perry and a capoeira group will also perform.
Mrs Duffy said it was decided to make the market entry a gold coin donation "to make it affordable for everyone".
"We don't know how many people will come but considering Tiki's playing for free we are hoping to see a fair few coming though.
"Tiki has been phenomenal. He just wants to give back to the community."
In addition, the market will collect children's Christmas gifts to be distributed via Women's Refuge "to help children on Christmas Day that don't really get a Christmas".
Market-goers are invited to bring a wrapped present labelled as suitable for a child aged 0-3, 3-7, 7-12 or 13+.
The Little Big Night Market is on from 6pm-10pm tomorrow, and will include market stalls and food, Christmas carols, mulled wine, free gift wrapping for presents bought at the market and a carnival area for the children.
Taane will play about 8pm.
