Days at the retreat are not regimented; guests will be able to spend their time however they please, whether it's sitting poolside relaxing with a book, enjoying a massage, learning how to cook traditional Balinese food or practising yoga. Fundamental parts of the retreat are art therapy and painting classes led by Paula, and life coaching sessions by Jenny.
"Painting and art invokes confidence," says Paula. "Creativity is a big part of who we are as people, and too often that's been shut down. A lot of people are terrified and say they don't have a creative bone in their body but that's not true. Everyone is an artist, all you need is an opportunity to explore your inner self."
Jenny explains her part of the retreat will help people rekindle their sparkle and zest for life. She is adamant life coaching is an elevating experience, not a therapy.
"We'll explore fun, insightful tools around mindset each day to help women understand and reach their life goals. Alongside this guests can enjoy yoga, massages, sample local food. They can visit cultural icons, a water temple, the Ubud markets and restaurants.
Guests can absolutely have an input into what they want to do - it's their holiday. And if all they want to do is sit around the pool and chill out, they can do that if they want."
Jenny and Paula have been dear friends for almost a decade. They're both into healthy living, share a love of food and truly believe in using their gifts, skills and experience to help others.
Jenny initially trained as a school teacher and used those skills when she travelled overseas. Upon returning to NZ she retrained as a social worker and spent many years working with Child Youth and Family in the mental health sector and the justice system.
She has always understood the importance of living a well-balanced life, and has attended wellness retreats in Bali, Indonesia and India. At a retreat in India in 2012, Jenny realised her true path and she returned home with a new zest for life. Jenny left her day job, retrained as a life coach and created her own business.
"Now I jump out of bed excited about each day. I totally live by my beliefs and I believe everyone can have a truly fulfilling life," she says.
Travelling and art are two things that excite and motivate Paula. She's been to all corners of the globe and believes travel enriches your life.
"Travel allows you to open yourself up to opportunities you never thought possible," she says. "Like travel, art can be powerful and beautiful, and can bring such pleasure and happiness. As a painting teacher the main thing I notice in women is the confidence they get from this. They leave feeling so empowered, so proud of themselves. Often they're terrified when they first come in as it's a whole new thing for them but you don't need to have painting experience. My core belief is anybody can paint, we can all be creative."
Paula is passionate about the environment and specialises in botanical and landscape paintings. She teaches art classes to students aged five to 85 from her beachfront home.
"I love plants, nature and the natural environment, the animals, the people and the culture that comes with it. I've always thought about combining my passions for travel and teaching and now that both my kids have left home, it's my time and this is a great opportunity to bring our skills together and create something incredible."
Women of all ages are invited to the creative wellness retreat. Several woman have already signed up, including two mother-daughter combinations. There are 10 spaces available, some spots have already been booked.
