A woman who admitted concealing more than $18,000 worth of P inside her body is making "very positive" progress to beat her addiction.
Kylie Puna, 27, who pleaded guilty to charges relating to possessing methamphetamine for supply, appeared in Auckland District Court yesterday.
Her lawyer Maria Pecotic briefed Judge Nicola Mathers on her client's progress in a residential rehabilitation facility, in which she has completed 64 days of a 118-day treatment programme.
Judge Mathers said she was "very pleased" with the positive steps Puna had made. "I hope you can continue on the path to recovery that you are on at the moment."
Puna was detained after a drug run ended with a police chase and a crash in Christchurch in November. She was found to be concealing 18.2g of methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $18,200.
