New figures show the stark reality of the cost of housing in Auckland.
Real Estate firm Harcourts reports one in five homes it's sold at auction in the past week have gone for over a million dollars.
Eleven of 55 properties went for more than a million - and only two were sold for less than $500,000.
The million dollar properties were spread throughout the city, with six on the North Shore, three in Howick, two from Epsom and one from Mount Albert.
One of the cheapest homes was in Papatoetoe and the other a do-up in Manurewa.
