Penguin encounter, swimming Santa at Kelly Tarlton's

Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium is giving visitors the opportunity to experience an on-the-ice encounter with New Zealand's only Antarctic penguin colony.

From 15 December, the aquarium's latest interactive experience will see visitors suited up in Antarctic snow gear to explore the new snow-filled penguin enclosure and get up-close and personal with the magnificent King and Gentoo Penguins.

Not only is it snowing this summer at Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium, Santa will be diving in the Ocean Discovery tank to feed the fish,  every day at 2pm from 15-24 December.

Visitors can also gain exclusive access and see how everything works behind-the-scenes at the re-launched aquarium, with a chance to feed the fish, discover the animal quarantine area, dive tanks and much more in new daily Behind The Scenes tours.

Kids will have the opportunity to take part in a new interactive quiz trail - a fun and educational way to learn about the amazing animals and exhibits at Kelly Tarlton's SEA LIFE Aquarium.

All this plus New Zealand's largest collection of sharks and stingrays, the world's only display of Spiny Sea Dragons, and a new live jelly fish display.
