Street artist Kelsey Montague has arrived in Auckland to paint a large scale mural in Ponsonby.

Montague posted on Facebook today that she couldn't wait to give Auckland a pair of wings.

Her first mural - a massive pair of wings entitled What Lifts You - was completed last year in the popular Nolita are of New York City.

The piece went viral after being featured on the Instagram accounts of Taylor Swift and Vanessa Hudgens.

People are encouraged to "step into" the artwork and become part of the drawing, and then post their photos on social media using the hashtag #whatliftsyou.

Montague will create a large angel wing mural for The Ponsonby Business
Association at Ponsonby Central tomorrow.

She will begin painting at 9am and people are encouraged to stop by from midday onwards to watch the work evolve.

After completing the mural she will head to Whitespace gallery in Ponsonby where other pieces of her work will be on display.

Montague has spent the last decade living and traveling around the world
to collect images, gain experiences, hone her skills and share her art - from
Florence and London to the past four years in Manhattan.

This will be her only stop in New Zealand. She next heads to Melbourne to work her magic there.
