The Whanganui rowing contingent is aiming to have every member claim a medal entering their final day of action at the World Masters Games on Lake Karapiro this morning.
The medal deluge continued on Wednesday with three more visits to the podium, as Aramoho Wanganui Rowing Club's Trevor Rush and Richard Brock backed up their gold medal pairs win on Monday with a silver in the G Men's Double (65+ years).
Rush then climbed into the Men's Coxed Eight with Allan Luff, Des Lock, David Lindstrom, Ewen Noble, Bruce Osborne, Garth Hammond, Laurence Sunde and cox Sue O'leary.
They won bronze in the H division (70+ years).
Rush's daughter Jacs Rush continued her own fine form with a bronze in the Women's C Single Schull (43-50 years).
Jacs said her father continues to be an ironman over the week of competition.
"He's pretty much had at least one event in every session.
"He's been a popular boy, getting in a heck of a lot of boats - and four of them have medalled."
The veteran masters cyclist Luff has also diversified, as he entered the cycling Time Trial before heading to Lake Karapiro for the rowing module.
Whanganui rowers were claiming more medals yesterday, ahead of the climax of the programme with the mixed crew races today.
Jacs Rush said unlike the previous events, today's action is contested in divisional events, rather than holding heats and semifinals.
From a group of around 17-18 rowers, only two of them had yet to claim a medal of some colour, and Rush said they were hoping to achieve that today in the mixed grades.
All the New Zealand rowers were punching above their weight against their international competition.
"Having our own boats on our own turf, really helps."
For those entering multiple events, the conditions at Lake Karapiro have been excellent with the exception of small morning delays for fog - otherwise being still and calm.
But even then, it allowed the crews waiting to have a catchup and socialise, which is also what the games are about.
"It's been absolutely amazing, cannot fault it. The atmosphere has been fantastic," Jacs Rush said.
