The West Coast Bombers are hoping to send their 2017 season off with a bang as both their development team and the senior mixed squad will have jams at Jubilee Stadium on Saturday.
Bring co-ed competition back to Whanganui, the Bombers senior team will be facing their friendly rivals from Hamilton in the Hellmilton Roller Ghouls, who also have a mixed squad in their league.
Spokesman Phil Murphy said both sides will feature skaters who have recently qualified for the New Zealand Men's team, who will be travelling to Barcelona in 2018 to compete in the Roller Derby World Cup.
The Bombers team made a trip earlier in the year to the first national co-ed tournament in Wellington, where they got to face their first international opponent in the guest Kingston City Rollers from Melbourne.
Tomorrow's opening matchup will see the development squad of the Stealth Bombers taking on Quiet Riot from Levin, which will be the first official game for many of the club members.
