The Whanganui District Council meets in closed session today to discuss funding for its community contracts.

These contracts are awarded to groups and organisations whose work aligns with the council's Leading Edge strategy.

Council has allocated $150,000 for the community contracts each year in its 2015-2025 10-year plan.

Recommendations from this week's meeting will remain confidential until contracts are in place with those organisations that are awarded funding.
