Applications for the 2015 Whanganui Health and Disability Quality Awards are open and it is hoped there will be an increase in entries with a change from annual awards to every two years.
Organising committee chairperson Lucy Dunlop says the decision to hold the awards every two years "is a nod to organisations needing a lot of lead-in time to prepare for the awards which include nine categories and one supreme award".
In addition to making the event bi-annual, the committee has brought it forward from October to June 11.
It will be held at the Wanganui Racecourse and no longer be dinner but rather drinks and nibbles, followed by a light supper when the awards ceremony concludes.
Entries are open to all health and/or disability service providers or individuals working to benefit the health and wellbeing of people within the Whanganui District Health Board region. Application packs are available to interested groups at wdhb.org.nz.
